3. Purpose of the register

The personal data recorded in the register is used when sending information about the products of the Snellman Group to the data subject (Customer) for direct marketing purposes. Personal data is collected based on information provided by the Customer, as well as in connection with phone calls. We may record phone calls to improve our customer service.

Data may be used to develop the operation of the Oy Snellman Ab group, to present their products, to improve product safety and for commercial purposes.

4. Personal data is processed in line with the Personal Data Act

The privacy statement of the register describes what kind of personal data we collect, how we process the data, as well as what rights and possibilities to influence data subjects have concerning their own personal data. This privacy statement applies to all companies belonging to the Oy Snellman Ab group in Finland. The following companies belong to the Oy Snellman Ab group:

The Snellman Group processes Customers’ personal data in accordance with this privacy statement and applicable legislation, so please read this privacy statement carefully.

5. Grounds for collecting and processing data

Oy Snellman Ab or its subsidiaries, mentioned above, aim to direct their marketing at target groups to get more visibility to the products that the group manufactures and sells directly to consumers or to the retail sector. Collected personal data is used in communication between Customers and the companies belonging to the Oy Snellman Ab group. Communication may include newsletters, bulletins deliver by email or other electronic communication means.

6. The data content of the register

The data content of the register includes all personal details mentioned below or only some of them:

the customer’s first and last name, address, email address and telephone number.

7. Storage period

Personal data is only stored for as long as it is needed for direct marketing purposes.

8. Regular sources of information

Personal data stored to the register is only collected from the Customer who provides the data.

9. Disclosing or transferring data regularly outside the EU or EEA countries

As a rule, data is not disclosed outside the Oy Snellman Ab group. Some external service or software providers of the company may store data outside the EU countries or the European Economic Area (EEA).

11. Protection of the register

Your personal data is stored to our own or our service provider’s servers, which are protected in accordance with the general practices followed in the field. Electronic data is protected by using firewalls, user IDs and passwords. 

Access rights are only granted to people who work for the controller and need the data to perform their tasks.

12. Automated decision-making

Automated individual decision-making, such as profiling (article 22, the EU General Data Protection Regulation), is not done.

13. The rights of the data subject

The data subject has the right to check what personal details concerning them has been stored to the personal data register. Written requests for checking the data should be signed and sent to the person in charge of the records, either by electronic means or by post. If we cannot be certain of the identity of the data subject, they must personally come to the head office of Oy Snellman Ab to the address mentioned above during office hours (8 am–4 pm). The data subject must present their valid identity card or Finnish driving licence, and leave a written request for checking the data to a company or companies belonging to the Snellman Group.

Data subjects can exercise their right to check their data once a year free of charge. For other such requests made during the same year we charge a moderate fee of EUR 100, unless we come to the conclusion that the request is unjustified, in which case we will notify the data subject in writing of our grounds for rejecting the request to check their data.

Data subjects have the right to obtain from the controller the rectification or erasure of inaccurate or outdated personal or request that data is transferred from one system or another. In addition, data subjects have the right to restrict the processing of their data or to object to it in accordance with articles 18 and 21 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Data subjects have the right to withdraw their consent concerning the processing of personal data, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Data subjects also have the right to prohibit the use of their data for direct marketing purposes.
